Artist Profile The artist Barbara Marshall was born in England and since an early age studied and attended Art Schools, including Harrow School of Art in London. She began with oil painting but on discovering watercolour, opted for this method which she uses until today. In 1977, she and her family moved to Brazil where she continued with her studies. Barbara has become known for her use of Feng Shui, the Chinese technique of harmonising the surroundings of home and office.

Her exhibition at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, São Paulo, showed a series of pictures using this technique, where each painting has it's own significance for the energisation of different aspects: relationships, fame, family, money, amongst others. Her exhibition "Jewels of the Sea" represented one more successful phase, where the object was the symbol of abundance and riches: the fish. The paintings showed in the most varying forms the fish which circulate and pass througn the waters of the planet. Barbara Marshall is connected with noble social causes, and during the year attends various courses studying the use of energies which promote spiritual growth and enlightenmente. Her work is not confined only to Brazil, her paintings have been exhibited in Paris, United States, and she has clients also in Australia, Spain and England. In recognition of her contribution to Brazilian Art, in 2001 Barbara was awarded the Ulysses Guimarães Trophy by the Order of the Parliamentarians of Brazil.
